Dead by Daylight Rekindles the 'Stranger Things' Experience After a Two-Year Break
- 2023-11-07
The acclaimed asymmetric horror game Dead by Daylight welcomes back the Stranger Things DLC, a part of the game that has been missing for the last two years.
Dead by Daylight is a standout game in the industry for its ground-breaking approach to asymmetric multiplayer horror gaming. Part of its fame can be attributed to the incorporation of numerous iconic killers derived directly from the horror segment of pop culture.
The Entity’s Realm has seen notable horror movie villains, including Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, and Pinhead, terrorizing unfortunate survivors. Besides the captivating and strategic gameplay, this element has helped secure Dead by Daylight's position at the forefront of its genre.
One of the horror icons, the Demogorgon from Netflix’s well-known series Stranger Things, was removed from Dead by Daylight in the past. The main villain of the show's first season, the Demogorgon, was featured in its own DLC. This also included survivors Nancy and Steve, along with the map of Hawkin’s National Laboratory. It seems that after being out of the game for two years, the DLC is all set for a comeback.
As declared on Dead by Daylight’s official Twitter page, fans will once again see the return of Nancy, Steve, the Demogorgon, and Hawkin’s National Lab.
The game's developers, Behaviour Interactive, state that such transitions are standard occurrences in the realm of live-service games. The team explained that regular updates, additions, and occasional modifications keep the game dynamic.
The long-term presence of this DLC is uncertain, as frequent variations are natural. That said, the development team is committed to preserving the legacy of all the game's characters and suggests players purchase the DLC to maintain their comprehensive gaming experience.
