- 2025-01-23

Fans of iconic video game music can look forward to a special release in Japan. Warner Music is set to reissue the soundtrack for Super Mario World on vinyl, scheduled for April 30th. This collection not only contains the beloved game’s music but also incorporates a variety of audio elements and musical arrangements from the series's initial three games, as confirmed by Tower Records.
The upcoming release will feature a total of 179 tracks across three vinyl records. The first disc is primarily dedicated to jazz interpretations of Koji Kondo's well-known compositions. These arrangements were originally created in the early '90s by Dragon Quest's composer Koichi Sugiyama along with renowned Japanese jazz artist Sadao Watanabe.
The second disc offers the previously mentioned tracks from Super Mario Bros. 1 through 3, in addition to the first segment of the Super Mario World soundtrack. The remaining selections will continue on either side of the third album.
The total cost for this vinyl soundtrack is set at 11,000 yen and it is currently open for pre-order for individuals who wish to secure their copy.
